We do

Restoration/Post Processing

Whether the photographs are digital or analog, we can offer post-processing and restoration. We have quite a bit of experience in this area with examples of our success shown here.

I was hired to prepare a scanned photo of Mr. Jones (Notes: right eye, missing bridge, and remove dust). This became the cover for the 2006 second printing of his book “Voices and Silences”. The result is pictured here along with the front cover.

Also, you can see a photo of John F. Kennedy. This was the most difficult restoration I had ever attempted. I was asked to repair this photograph, along with several others in a series for an exhibit and publication for Smithsonian honoring famous female artists. President Kennedy is seen here gazing at an unfinished portrait of FDR by Elizabeth Shoumatoff. President Roosevelt died before she could finish.  A few years later Shoumatoff was re-commissioned to finish her work by President Johnson. This photo was taken shortly before President Kennedy was assassinated.

Below you can see both of the before pictures that we started with.

Reasons why you might need restoration:

  • Removing scratches and stains.
  • Repairing tears
  • Reviving old faded pictures
  • Restore damaged or dirty photos.
  • Correct colors and enhance contrast or sharpness.
  • Remove unwanted people or objects from images.
  • Retouching of portraits.
